Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to some of the questions we get the most:

There is no specific timing for heat pump installation because you can do it all year round. Let’s explore the benefits and limitations of installing heat pumps during different seasons.

Heat Pump Installation in Spring Season
Spring is the right time to replace your heating pumps as the prices are relatively low. That’s because there is little to no demand for heating hardware since the weather is warm enough as it is, and you can call our technicians to do the installation asap.

Heat Pump Installation in Summer Season
Like spring, you don’t have to experience a heating gap in summer. It’s easy to buy heat pumps that don’t break the bank, and delays in installation won’t cause any discomfort.

Heat Pump Installation in Autumn Season
Autumn is the peak season for heat pump installation because winter is just a stone’s throw away, and people start preparing their homes for the cold season. It might be difficult to find and buy the right heating equipment since they are in high demand. Installation might also take longer than usual because technicians might be booked out for weeks.

Heat Pump Installation in Winter Season
Winter is a busy time for heat installation companies, making it difficult for installation or replacement. You might have to pay top dollar for emergency installation and repair services.
But you don’t have to worry because you’ve got us, and we are always only a call away.

We cover three domains:

Commercial Services

We install and upgrade electrical wiring and equipment in commercial and business spaces such as offices, schools, apartment complexes, and housing facilities.

Residential Services

We cover it all, including inspection, repair, maintenance, and installation of whole-house wiring and electric system. It doesn’t matter whether your house wiring is above ground or underground; count on us to deliver the necessary services.

Industrial Services

Our technicians have the necessary experience and expertise in repairing, maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting heavy industrial electric equipment. We ensure the wiring and electrical systems can handle the heavy load and pressure without tripping or power failure.

At First Stop, we provide scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance services. So, if your HVAC or electrical systems are giving you trouble, you only have to give us a call. We will dispatch our experienced technicians to check and identify the cause and repair or replace components as required.

However, we do recommend you schedule an appointment first.

The installation time depends on the heating pump design and model. A simple back-to-back installation takes almost five hours. However, a complex system can take longer depending on the system complexity.

It’d be best to call us for a free consultation before buying a heating pump system. We will tell you which heating pump system is suitable for your home and how long it takes to install it.

Our technicians follow a systemised heat pump installation process to ensure successful and safe system installation every time.

We are with you every step of the way, from deciding whether you need an air or ground heat pump to buying the right brand and size for your needs. Then we move on to our installation process, which goes as follows:

  1. We start with a thorough inspection of your current heating system and examine if your home is adequately insulated for heating pumps
  2. Next, we locate the perfect spot for the heat pump system to have enough free space to function correctly
  3. Installation begins with the outside unit, bolting it to the ground or securing it to the house with brackets
  4. Then the heat pump goes up
  5. The outside unit and inside heat pump are connected. This is done by drilling a hole in your wall. Then we pass the control wire, refrigerant hose, and the condensate drain hose through the hole, connecting both systems

Now your heating pump system is ready to heat your home.

A well-maintained heating pump system consumes 10% to 25% less energy than a heat pump that hasn’t had any upkeep or maintenance services in a long time. Your heat pump maintenance routine should have these steps:

  • Clean your heat pump’s filter at least once a month to remove dirt and debris to ensure it doesn’t clog
  • Clean the heating pump’s fans
  • Check refrigerant level
  • Check for leaks on the floor and walls surrounding the heating pump system

Get your heating pumps inspected at least once a year by a professional to ensure everything is working correctly. Just call us for a maintenance check, we will send our technicians right over.

Our experienced technicians thoroughly inspect the heating pump system to ensure it works fine no matter how cold it is outside.

Our maintenance services include:

  • Cleaning and disinfecting internal coils, drain pipe, air filters, and condensate pumps (if fitted)
  • Inspecting and repairing the system’s electrical circuit
  • Checking for any refrigerant gas leaks
  • Running fault diagnostics in the system
  • Observing and regulating temperature readings and noise levels

If you have any unique maintenance requests, we also cater to those.

Asset registration is the complete and proper listing of a business’s physical resources. Industrial and commercial setups use this listing to keep track of the timeline they purchased their assets. It also helps calculate assets value and identify their physical location at all times. Therefore, asset registration must be accurate.

We help you keep track of your assets, their value, and where they are used.

Yes, we can perform safety checks for electric systems and heat pumps. Our certified technicians systematically check for electric systems and heat pumps for potential hazards, safety issues, and errors. Then they use guaranteed ways to eliminate the problems and ensure all your house systems are safe for operation.
